Description American Green Tree Frogs originate from Southern & Eastern parts of America. These communual frogs should be provided with a damp woodland enclosure with a water bowl which they can soak themselves in. Although they cannot be handled, the American Green Tree Frog still makes a fascinating pet. They spend most of their time clinging to the sides of their enclosure, occasionally surpising their owner when they suddenly leap across the enclosure after catching the glimpse of a tasty cricket or hopper. Housing In order to keep a pair of American Green Tree Frogs, we recommend a 60 x 45 x 45 cm Exo Terra Glass Terrarium or equivalent. These come with a high quality, natural effect background, which the Tree Frogs happily climb on. As well as this, they are ideal because their easy access door Lighting Although lighting is not essential with this species of Tree Frog, nonetheless you may wish to provide some for your own viewing benefit. Additionally, to add further character to the enclosure, the incorporation of a Exo Terra Night Glo Lamps (which provide a blue light at night) is highly recommended. Temperature and Humidity These frogs should be given a temperature of 71 - 82°f with 60-80% humidity. Spray daily to help maintain the humidity. Another way to maintain humidity would be to add a waterfall and fogger system (both relatively inexpensive) which also adds character to the enclosure. Feeding American Green Tree Frogs should be fed on a diet of Small Hoppers or Small Crickets. If you purchase your Tree Frogs from ourselves we can also advise you as to the particular food we have been feeding them. They should be fed every other day.
